Shaolin Xiaohong Boxing | 少林小红拳
The authentic Songshan Shaolin Xiaohong Boxing (also known as Small Form Red Boxing in English) is the basic boxing routine of the ‘Red Boxing series and belongs to soft boxing category. It is a compulsory routine for beginners. It is said that the Shaolin Xiaohong Boxing is the “Mother of Eighteen Boxing”. It is one of the ‘must learn’ basic boxing skills in the Shaolin Temple martial arts class.
The steps of Shaolin Temple Xiaohongquan include parallel step, lunge, horse step, flapping step, squatting step, virtual step, etc., which basically include the common step types of various martial arts, and the hand types include palm, fist, and five-flowered grasp, splashing, and hooking; leg techniques include kicking, bounce, and jumping; body techniques include turning, shrinking, etc.
Shaolin Xianhong boxing which constitute a complete system of hands, feet, body, eyes, footwork and flexibility thus forming a systematic offensive and defensive routine. The movements are small and exquisite, its technique is strong and powerful, its moves include offense and defense, hard and soft movements that is used in combat.
