hard work and devotion. Master Shi Yandi is the embbodiment of the Shaolin spirit.
Entering the Shaolin Temple at the young age of 8, Master Shi Yandi studied under the guidance of Shaolin Temple Abbot Shi Yongxin.
During this early period, Master Yandi accompanied Abbot Yongxin on a pilgrimage to Taiwan to visit the revered Master Monk Yin Shun and other esteemed monks. Even at such a tender age, Young Master Yandi impressed them all with his intelligence and astute disposition.

Training under Shaolin Kung Fu Zen Masters
Under the guidance of Shaolin Temple Abbot Chan Master Shi Yongxin and esteemed Senior Shaolin Kung Fu Masters Shi Yanzhuang and Shi Yanao, Master Yandi dedicated himself to years of hard work, diligence, and unwavering commitment.
Through this journey, Master Yandi honed his skills and developed exceptional Kung Fu styles, including the traditional Shaolin Boxing, animal styles like snake and eagle, as well as mastery in various Shaolin weapons such as the sword and staff. These are just a few examples among the many Kung Fu styles that he has mastered through his relentless pursuit of martial arts excellence.
在少林寺方丈禅师释永信和著名的高级少林功夫大师释延庄和释延鳌的指导下，再加上多年的努力、勤奋和完全的奉献，延荻法师发展出了卓越的功夫风格，包括传统的少林拳、蛇和鹰等动物风格，以及少林剑和棍等武器。这只是众多功夫风格中的几个例子，他通过对武术卓越的不懈追求，掌握了许多其他的功夫风格。
Growning up at Shaolin Temple
As Master Yandi rose to become a senior monk instructor and a natural leader, he was frequently invited to participate in international reception committees, welcoming visiting dignitaries and leaders from various countries. He also actively engaged in international cultural exchanges and activities, particularly those aimed at serving Chinese communities abroad.
Master Yandi’s expertise and reputation as a skilled practitioner led him to become one of Shaolin Temple’s esteemed Senior Kung Fu instructors. He was regularly chosen for international teaching assignments, representing the essence of Shaolin Kung Fu and Culture.
Master Shi Yandi proudly represented Shaolin Temple in numerous International Shaolin Cultural Festivals, including events held in Germany (2012), Austria (2012), North America (2013), and the United Kingdom (2014). His exceptional abilities consistently earned him the privilege of serving as a coach for international Shaolin Kung Fu examinations and participating in various large-scale Shaolin Kung Fu cultural activities.
随着延荻法师的晋升为高级僧侣教练和天生的领导者，他经常受邀参加国际接待委员会，迎接来访的各国重要人物和领导人。他还积极参与国际文化交流和为海外华人社区举办的活动。

Throughout the years, Master Yandi has been prominently featured in various international performances. He played a significant role in productions like “The Wheel of Life” (2002-2004), the documentary “The Little Shaolin Monks” (2006), and the immensely successful and internationally acclaimed stage performance “Sutra” (2007-2015). These performances took place in front of large audiences across numerous countries in Europe and the United States. Master Yandi often took on the role of the featured performer, and notably, he was frequently the youngest child monk.
In addition to his roles as an official representative of Shaolin Temple in various events, performances, and cultural exchanges, Master Yandi has also been featured in several film and television broadcasts. One such example is “The Little Shaolin Monks” (2007), an independent documentary that provides insights into the daily lives of child Shaolin Kung Fu apprentices, showcasing a new generation of Shaolin disciples. The documentary features Master Yandi alongside three other young Kung Fu apprentices.

In March 2018 Master Yandi was handpicked and entrusted by Shaolin Abbot, the Venerable Shi Yongxin to visit Vancouver, Canada and oversee the preparatory work for Shaolin Temple and Cultural Centre of Canada, an official extension of Shaolin Temple China. Shaolin Temple and Cultural Centre of Canada officially opens its door to Canadian and international students and disciples in September 2018.
Master Yandi, recognized as a natural leader and an outstanding representative of Shaolin Temple’s illustrious history, heritage and of Shaolin Zen martial arts culture. A practitioner and pioneer of contemporary Shaolin way of life.
As Abbot and Headmaster of Shaolin Temple of Canada, Master Yandi has been tasked to ensure that all students and disciples of Shaolin Kung Fu and Chan Buddhism under his tutelage will be taught in accordance to the methodology and doctrine of the sacred knowledge that has been past down from one generation to the next over its 1500 years of illustrious history of the legendary Shaolin Temple of China.
在2018年3月，延荻法师被尊敬的少林寺方丈释永信亲自挑选并委托，前往加拿大温哥华，负责加拿大少林寺和文化中心的筹备工作，该中心是少林寺在中国的官住持支机构。2018年9月，加拿大少林寺和文化中心正式向加拿大和国际学生和弟子开放。
